FINAL Steve King of Canton won the first part of his double header against the Welly's Bill Bainton as his doubles pairing with Andre Sergeant beat Bill and Rob Richards 4-2 in the final. Bill has his chance to avenge the defeat in the Thursday singles final. Steve and Andre made a solid start winning the first, but Bill and Rob fought back to win the second frame comfortably. Some good potting by Steve then ensured the next two frames were theirs, leaving them one frame from victory, at 3-1. However, an excellent frame by Rob pulled one back for the guys from the Wellington, but an outstanding 30 break by Steve meant the title was heading to Canton. |
