Following
a sponsorship deal with Rileys Snooker this year's singles and
doubles competitions will all take place at Rileys City Road and Wellington clubs. Each of the
tournaments will be held on Tuesday and Thursday
nights throughout the season that have been kept
free, in advance, of league matches. Sponsorship
money from Rileys will be available as prize
money along with all proceeds from the
competition entry fees.
Craig Davis won his second Cardiff
Handicap title after defeating Richard Humphries
in a five frame thriller at Rileys City Road. The
first two frames were shared before Davis hit
form, hitting a 50 to take the frame. Humphries
then took it to a decider at 2-2 by sneaking the
fourth frame after being behind for most the
frame. The decider was an
exciting affair with both players still in it on
the blue. Humphries missed it and let Craig in to
clinch the title.
