Fairwater benefit from a no-show but Penarth BL keep up the pressure with 4-1 win #snooker

A Rileys no-show against Fairwater means they are deducted six points, and drop to the bottom of the table whilst the champions edge a point ahead at the top. Mackintosh have escaped bottom position after a good win against Savoy (and a fourth win in a row), but the title race grew even closer, as Penarth’s fine 4-1 win against Penarth Road was overshadowed by Fairwater’s walkover whitewash. Might make a difference as the season comes to an end, but league rules have been applied.

University lost to County at home, in a game turned probably by the fourth frame and the tv room next door to the table, but the opening frame was a classic, with Mark Green simply outpotting Allan Morgan. Sounds like the opener was similar at Penarth Legion. No breaks to really challenge the very top of the leaderboard this week, but Green’s 50 was one of the better efforts. Will anyone beat Allan Morgan this year WITHOUT making a break over 50 to do it?

Rankings shifted slightly, with defeats for some leading players, and Mark Bennett and Neil Tomkins lead the way with 16 wins apiece (albeit Mark has one fewer defeat).
