Fairwater now huge title favourites after Penarth slip up to the University champions #cardiff #snooker

Big momentum shift in the Tuesday League as Fairwater slide back to the top on games won. April 10th may now not be as significant as it might have been, with Penarth BL facing tough matches against Mack and Trec in coming weeks, before they can host a showdown with their title rivals.

County found themselves short on numbers, with Rob Hayes in work till 11.30, and even with Tom Cross in the side, the game was long done by then. Not a great game, but Trec better in every frame and won 5-0.

University followed up their success in the British University Championships with a stunning win over Penarth Legion, who opted to rest Lee Walker, while Fairwater beat Savoy 4-1 at home. In the other match, Mack moved further away from the bottom by beating Penarth Road 3-2.

Rhys Carpenter continued his brilliant season by beating rankings rival Neil Tomkins to move back into second place. Mark Bennett won again and apart from a huge improbability the title is between those three players despite excellent seasons by Sam Thomas, Ryan Rowlands and Tom Cross (who could just about tie for the title).
