New Cardiff champion guaranteed with Carpenter going for double singles glory

This year’s singles and doubles competitions have reached the semi-final stage and it is confirmed that we will have a new Cardiff Champion this year after Huw Carpenter beat Spencer Symmons to reach his fourth semi-final. Indeed Huw is the only player of the four to have reached this stage before and will have a home tie against Terry Garland to seek to reach his first final. In the other semi-final two Barry players will face each other with Ryan Rowlands at home against Tom Davie in his first CDSL season.

Huw Carpenter is also in the semi-finals of the Handicap as he seeks a second title, as does Kishan Hirani. Graham Bailey and Mike Kinman make up the pairings.

Ryan Rowlands remains in three competitions altogether with two doubles semi-finals alongside Sam Thomas coming up, and one other player has reached the last four in both competitions.

Good luck to everyone all those remaining in the competitions.
