The First Round of this year’s Handicap Cup saw a number of close games, with four matches going the distance. The performance of the round came at the Mack, where the home team knocked out Savoy, to set up a quarter final at County Cons. Cathays Cons continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 defeat of South Wales A, although they have a tough task in the next round as they face Canton Libs A, who enter the competition after their bye. The individual highlight of the night came at County, where a 57 break from Huw Carpenter completed their win against Cuesaders.
