Cathays Cons open up a 9 point lead

Cathays Cons took advantage of a bye week for Taff’s Well by beating Rumney British Legion 4-1 to move 9 points clear at the top of Division One. Canton Libs Z join Taff’s Well in second place after winning 3-2 against South Wales Snooker A to make the Division One title race a three-way battle. In the Premier League, Canton Libs A won the game of the week 3-2 against Savoy in a high quality match. Sam Thomas and Kishan Hirani avoided each other and were able to maintain their 100% records, while County Cons extended their lead at the top thanks to a 4-1 victory at home to Cuesaders. With only 4 games to go, there is still all to play for in both divisions and at the top of the individual rankings. There were two notable breaks this week, a 78 for Kishan Hirani and a 75 for Jason Hewitt, although the league is still waiting for its first century of the season.
