Handicap Cup semi places up for grabs

The Handicap Cup group stages are going to the wire after this week’s results. In Group A the leaders Cuesaders lost 3-2 to Canton Libs Z, while Taff’s Well A beat Rumney British Legion 4-1, meaning that all four teams can qualify for the semi-finals. Group B is looking more straightforward as Canton Libs A lead the way after beating Cathays Cons 4-1, who will have to repeat the scoreline against Savoy in their final group game to qualify. The Barry side consolidated second place in the group after a 5-0 win over Canton Libs B, with Mark Bennett making an 85 break. In the Plate there was an excellent 4-1 win for Senghenydd at Taff’s Well B, whilst Park Cons lead the group after beating South Wales Snooker 3-2.
