Canton Libs Z shock the leaders

It was an unlucky 13th game for the league leaders Taff’s Well B who have lost their unbeaten record, after they were beating 3-2 at home to Canton Libs Z. The Cowbridge Road outfit established a well-deserved 3-0 lead, but wins for the individual rankings top two Kevin Brown and Tom Cross gave the leaders some consolation.

Canton Libs A took advantage of the slip-up by beating Rumney British Legion 5-0, with a 76 break by Twm Jones being the highlight. The other challengers for the title Savoy also won after overcoming Taff’s Well A 3-2 to close the gap at the top.

There were also wins for Canton Libs B who beat Senghenydd 3-2, and Cuesaders who whitewashed Cathays Cons 5-0.

The other notable performance of the night came at South Wales Snooker, after their sealed their first win of the season by defeating Park Club 3-2.
