Taff’s Well B maintain their advantage

Taff’s Well B remain five points clear with only three matches left of the season, as they put in a strong performance to beat Cathays Cons 5-0 in a high quality encounter this week. Second place Canton Libs A would’ve been looking to cut the lead at the top as they faced South Wales Snooker, but a 5-0 win keeps them in contention, and ensures they pull away from 3rd place Savoy, who managed a 3-2 victory at Canton Libs B. It was the Barry team’s 7th win a row, but six of those victories have been by the odd frame, leaving them unable to close the gap on the teams above them.

Cuesaders look set to finish in 4th place as they beat their nearest rivals Taff’s Well A 4-1, but the middle of the table is very congested as only four points separate 5th to 8th. Canton Libs Z move up the table thanks to a dominant 5-0 win over Rumney British Legion, whilst Senghenydd edged out Park Cons 3-2.
