The race for the title is getting closer as both Taff’s Well B and Mackintosh gained on leaders Canton Libs A this week to ensure the last 5 weeks of the season are going to be very exciting.

Canton Libs A gained a hard-fought 3-2 victory at fifth-placed Senghenydd after being 2-1 down at one stage, with Shaun O’Connell winning the crucial deciding frame. Taff’s Well B continued their winning streak with a 4-1 win at Rumney British Legion, whilst Mackintosh gained ground with a 5-0 whitewash of Canton Libs B. With the top 4 all due to play games against each othe starting with Canton Libs A v Mackintosh next week, the title race looks like it’s got a few twists and turns left yet.

There were also wins for Canton Libs Z who beat South Wales Snooker 5-0 and Savoy B who won 3-2 at Park Club. Meanwhile, there was an outstanding debut by Suraj Singh for Taff’s Well A who missed the pink on a 90 clearance to help his side to an impressive 4-1 win over Cathays Cons, and is clearly a name we’ll be hearing more of in the future.
