One of the more unusual explanations was to blame for affecting the Cathays Cons v Savoy match this week, as a power cut saw the game transferred to Mackintosh Sports. The game didn’t disappoint as three matches were decided on the black including the decider as the Barry side edged a 3-2 victory – thank you to all involved for finding a way to play the match!

The result of the week and the season so far saw Taff’s Well A inflict the first defeat for Canton Libs A in 14 league matches going back to halfway through last season, thanks to Kevin Jones who beat Luke Pitman in the deciding frame.

The competitiveness of the league this year was outlined by five of the six matches going to the final frame, including the match between Senghenydd and Mackintosh as the Caerphilly side continued their outstanding start to the season to beat last year’s runners-up and stay in second place themselves.

The other game between Canton and Taff’s Well also produced a tight encounter as Taff’s Well B won 3-2 at home to Canton Libs Z to remain top of the Premier League, whilst Rumney British Legion move level with Cathays Cons at the top of Division One with a 3-2 win at Park Club, although Canton Libs B closed the gap at the top with a 5-0 win over Mackies Lost Boys.
