The line-up for the semi-finals of the Malcolm Keenor Trophy have been decided after an eventful week in both groups.

Canton Libs Z are the winners of Group A after a win against Savoy to make it three out of three, whilst Mackintosh take the runners-up spot with a victory over Taff’s Well B.

Group B saw one of the matches of the season as Canton Libs A hosted Taff’s Well A, with both teams knowing they had made the semis with the advantage for winning the group up for grabs. The handicap was always going to make it a close match, but a brilliant 114 clearance by Kishan Hirani looked like it would be decisive, but Taff’s Well A fought back to clinch the final frame and take first place in the group.

There were two shocks in the Plate, as Park Club comfortably beat Senghenydd to record their first win of the group stage, and leave the defending champions with two defeats in as many matches.

However, the closest match of the night took place at Llandaff as Mackies Lost Boys won on a respotted black in the final frame against Cuesaders to go level on points with Rumney British Legion at the top of the table.
