Canton Libs B are Division One champions after they defeated Rumney British Legion 4-1 to move 14 points clear of nearest challengers Trecenydd Snooker with two games left to play. James Wigmore’s side have led the division for most of the season and thoroughly deserve the title and their promotion to the Premier League. Their success has been built on the form of James and his brother Rory, who both currently feature in the individual rankings, along with Cardiff Open semi-finalist James Facey, and last year’s Cardiff Handicap runner-up Kieran Madden, with Simon Takata and Tony Chick ensuring one of the most consistent line-ups in the league.

Canton Libs Z’s slim chance of catching their neighbours ended this week when they were deducted 6 points for not fulfilling their fixture against Fairwater Cons who are awarded a 5-0 victory, whilst Cuesaders won 4-1 at home to Senghenydd.

Savoy stayed on course for the Premier League title with an impressive 4-1 win at Cathays Cons, although second-placed Mackintosh did gain a point on their rivals after they beat Taff’s Well A 5-0. Taff’s Well B kept up their pursuit of the runners-up spot with a 5-0 win at Mackies Lost Boys to ensure the race enters the final two weeks.
