Congratulations to Savoy after they were crowned CDSA 2018-19 Premier League champions after a 5-0 victory against Mackies Lost Boys put them out of reach of Mackintosh and Taff’s Well B and ensured that they retain their title. After a shaky start where they lost two of their first five matches, the Barry outfit have won 17/18 in an outstanding run that has put them past the 100-point mark with a game still to play. Their title is very well-deserved and congratulations to Colin Lane’s side whose success has been built on the superb trio of ex-professional and three-time Player of the Year Mark Bennett, two-time Cardiff Open winner Ryan Rowlands and two-time Cardiff Open finalist and former Player of the Year Sam Thomas, as well as Lee Greening and captain Colin Lane meaning a talented and consistent line-up that proved too good for the rest of the league.

Mackintosh beat Cuesaders 4-1 to finish their season on 101 points, but Taff’s Well B matched that result against neighbours Taff’s Well A to remain five points behind Ronnie Allen’s side. Mackintosh remain strong favourites to claim the runners-up spot they’ve held for a long time, but a 5-0 win at Cuesaders on the last day of the season for Taff’s Well B can clinch 2nd place for Tom Cross’s team.

Division One champions Canton Libs B are looking to finish the season in style after a rapid 4-1 win against Trecenydd Snooker, whilst Canton Libs Z won 3-2 at home to Rumney British Legion and Fairwater Cons ensured Cathays Cons can’t catch them in 4th place in the Prenier League with a 3-2 win.
