Savoy are the first team to book their place in the semi-finals of the Malcolm Keenor Trophy after they beat Cathays Cons 5-0 with a superb 83 break from Mark Bennett being the individual highlight of the week. The battle for the second place is between Canton Libs B and Trecenydd Snooker who both registered 4-1 wins this week against Senghenydd and Canton Libs Z respectively, with Dylan Emery again recording a frame-winning contribution with an excellent 75 break.

Things are very tight in Group B with only three points separating four sides chasing the top two spots. Taff’s Well gave themselves a shot at qualifying for the semis after their must-win 4-1 victory over Llandaff Warriors, whilst Mackintosh beat Cuesaders 4-1 to edge ahead at the top of the group. However, Fairwater Cons could only beat Rumney British Legion 3-2 to give the sides below them hope as we enter the final group game. The top four all face-off in the last week with Llandaff needing a big victory over Mackintosh and Taff’s Well knowing that a 3-2 win at Fairwater would be enough to clinch a semi-final spot.
