Paying your CDSL registration fees

Payment for entry into this season’s Cardiff and District Snooker League is due by the end of September. Team registrations are £40 per team.

This can be done in two ways:
1. Cheques (payable to Cardiff and District Snooker Association) in post to Spencer Symmons –

2. Or you can use direct bank transfer to community bank account. CDSA, Barclays Bank. Contact Spencer or cardiffsnooker@yahoo.co.uk for account details.

Committee to step down at the end of the season – new volunteers needed urgently

All of the present league committee other than the league chairman have confirmed that they will be stepping down from their duties for next season. We’re all grateful for the contribution the committee members have made, particularly to Spence and Kevin who have undertaken various roles over many years.

However this leaves the league in a precarious position for next season, and nominations are needed for the league committee. It is planned for the AGM to be held soon after the end of the season so please put yourselves forward as soon as possible.

The roles of the committee members are described below:

League Secretary
• Process team entries and player registrations.
• Arrange League fixtures.
• Organise League and Team Cup match schedules.
• Collect and process match results and player records.
• Resolve issues and appeals with other committee members.
• Update the CDSA website with Glyn.
• Post updates via the forum.
• Encourage involvement with social media.
• Arrange venues for Team Cup finals.
• Referee Cup finals.
• Assist Treasurer in organising awards, trophies and prizes as well as collecting registration fees.

Comp Sec
• Involves organising the comps
• Distributing entry sheets or using online solution
• Working out handicaps
• Producing the comp draw forms, pass to Glyn for CDSA website upload
• Setting the deadline dates for each round
• Collection of the match results
• Dealing with telephone and text based appeals
• Involvement in collecting comp fees to pass to Treasurer
• Refereeing the finals.
• Being at the AGM every year

Treasurer
• Involves setting up a committee bank account (requires two visits to bank and two signatories)
• Collecting team registration fees (in person, via bank transfer, via post or via your club), paying into bank (I`ve learnt
