County back at the top as Mackintosh hammer Trecenydd

After an entertaining week in the Tuesday League, it seems Mackintosh think they are back in the hunt for the title as they whitewashed title contenders Trecenydd. What seemed to be Fairwater’s by right just two weeks ago has now been put up for resale, since their defeats by Legion and Savoy. Neither were easy games to win, and Savoy’s run, having given County a beating recently as well, must be the best in the division.

If Mack are back, then don’t count out County. The more pessimistic members of their side had thought that they had seen the back of top spot for this season, but got back there by virtue of a fine win over Penarth Road, although the highlight of that match was the 58 break Chris Richards knocked in to go level at one-all with Rob Hayes for for the season.

Savoy, even, are close enough to stand a chance if they win all remaining games, and who is to say that they can’t? Trec lost ground against title rivals, but maybe they will get it back next week, when County host Mackintosh. Meanwhile, Uni drew away from the bottom two places with a good win over Potters Bar – anyone who can beat Travis Furnish has done well. Tom Cross should remain top of the averages thanks to his win over James Facey, and that in spite of being constantly barracked by a 9 year old as he played…..
