Savoy win again and Bennett and Hewitt continue perfect seasons

A bit of controversy this week as two players from Division One played for their A side in the Premier League. As a precendent has been set earlier in the season, this has been allowed, but teams are encouraged to register new players rather than play teams from the lower division. See the Match Secretary’s comments here.

Savoy won 3-2 to remain on course for the title. Best break reported this week from Penarth Road’s Anthony Davies, giving his side a look at second place, but a whitewash from Fairwater against Park means they lift themselves into that spot. They took two points back from Savoy’s lead, but may feel it is too big a hurdle, as they have no game against Savoy left to really make an impact. Instead, Penarth Road, now ahead of County and the close-in-pursuit Trecenydd, may feel best positioned to steal the league late on if they can hammer Savoy when the two teams meet.

Meanwhile, little change at the foot of the table, as the bottom four sides all lost.

In the rankings, Mark Bennett and Jason Hewitt continued their superb runs to win their 13th out of 13 games and are 5 matches away from a perfect season. All top ten players won this week.
