Mackintosh Snooker produced one of the performances of the season to shock title challengers Mackintosh Sports 4-1 to seriously dent their chances of regaining the Premier League. Jerry Connors got them off to a great start by beating Jason Hewett and they followed that up with a close win for Craig Bolton over Alan Hurley. Carlos Schiazza then made sure of the win with victory over Brian Rees, before Khurram Khan pulled one back against Nathan Dunne but captain Mike Nessbert sealed a great night for the Division One leaders with a win over Ronnie Allen to make it 4-1.

Fairwater Cons took advantage to increase their lead at the top of the table, but they were made to work hard for their 3-2 win at Taff’s Well. Twm Sion Jones showed why he’s one of the form players in the league with an impressive performance to beat Rhys Carpenter, before Terry Garland’s sensational clearance on the colours made it 2-0 with a win over Nick Jones. Jimmy Llewellyn won on the pink against Steffan Davies to get a frame back and Kevin Brown drew his side level after he defeated Shaun O’Connell to take it to a decider. It was another close encounter as Rob Hayes had chances to beat Ben Griffiths but the leader of the individual rankings showed why he has only lost once all season with a solid finish on the colours to give his side a crucial win.

Canton Libs got back to winning ways after their defeat last week with a 3-2 win away to Trecenydd Snooker to keep themselves in the chase for the title, but they had to come from behind after Dan Bridle beat Ed Topham on the black. Rory Wigmore and Luke Haines gave Canton the lead with wins over Mike Pardoe and Dai Birkenshaw respectively, before captain James Wigmore sealed the win with victory over Dai Rideout, but Chris Garwood won a consolation frame for Trecenydd in the last against Tony Chick.

Rumney British Legion have finally won their first league game of the season with a 3-2 win over Cuesaders Z. Glyn Hayes won the opening frame against Paul Chichester, before Rob Richards levelled things at 1-1 with victory over Alex Ellis. Ryan Bowgen made it 2-1 for Cuesaders after he beat Tony Parkin, but Ben Harding defeated Graeme Prance to take it to a deciding frame and Andy Magill gave his side the win after beating Bill Bainton.

Savoy’s 4-1 win over RBL Warriors featured the individual highlight of the week after Mark Bennett’s 66 break against Syed Moshin Kazmi and this was followed up by Dave Hurn’s win over Nick Davis to make it 2-0. Chris Johnson beat Jeff Lane to pull one back, but Jason Summerhayes sealed the win after defeating Simon Takata and Lee Greening made it 4-1 with a win over Mike Watts.
