The provisional league fixtures for the ‘Premier Division’ of the new league structure have been drawn up.
On a basis of having nine or ten teams in this division, each team will play each other side twice, once at home and once away unless a team notifies Kevin Brown that it cannot play on a Tuesday as previously stipulated. In that case, the away fixture switches to an extra home fixture, with the team which has the two ‘home’ fixtures responsible for refereeing, catering and drinks at BOTH matches.
All TUESDAY fixtures will be clearly marked on the fixtures sheet made available to teams.
If such an issue emerges in a Cup competition, the same format will be adopted. For example, if Team A prefer to play at home on Tuesdays, but Team B declares BEFORE THE SEASON BEGINS that it cannot play on Tuesdays, and in the Cup the draw is TEAM A v TEAM B, then the match will occur on the Thursday of the given week at Team B’s home venue.
It looks as it stands as if the league itself will start on September 27th for ‘Premier’ Division teams (team list yet to be finalised by Dan) although two teams will be required to play a prelim round for the Divisional Cup on September 20th.
The division will end on March 21st, 2013.
There will then be two weeks of Cup semi finals and finals to conclude the Handicap K/O Cup.
Just to repeat, as it stands, only two sides have so far advised Kevin they prefer to play their home games on Tuesdays. These are the Penarth Road and County sides.
Fairwater have confirmed they will play home games on Thursdays, as have Mackintosh A. I believe Mackintosh B will do the same. Last year’s Rileys team from Tuesdays will also play home games on Thursdays.
University, and Taff’s Well, as well as Penarth British Legion, from last year will no longer participate (PBL moving to Penarth Road).
No day is yet stipulated by Savoy, or Trecenydd to the best of my knowledge, who are the remaining two teams from last year’s Tuesday division
