It could not be much closer in the Tuesday League. Trecenydd, who apparently still feel able to win the league, have put themselves back within reach after a thumping win over Potters Bar, but selection problems make them still an outside bet.
County sat out this week, knowing that either Mack or Fairwater, and possibly both, would move above them. In the end, Mack earned the only win that could prevent them from leading at the turn of the season, winning by the odd frame in 5, thanks to a late apperance from Symmo after some sacrifices made against Fairwater’s lead-off men.
So Fairwater remain top, but are on a run of defeats, while only one point separates each of the other teams. County will need to pile on the points ahead of their BYE to end the season, while Trec may feel a big win over Potters Bar in the final week could sneak them into top spot while Fairwater and Mack distract one another. Looks like a cracking end to the season, as Penarth BL and Savoy dispute fifth, and Uni and Penarth Road are locked in a battle for seventh.
