Bennett hits 98 as Savoy trounce Fairwater to keep title race alive #cardiff #snooker

The Tuesday League title race opened up a little this week as Fairwater lost 4-1 at Savoy whilst all 4 of their nearest rivals won. County now trail the leaders by 6 points and they face each other next week. In the match at Barry, Mark Bennett hit a marvellous 98 break but missed the chance not only for a second ton of the season but a 141 clearance. Riley’s won by walkover against Taff’s Well, who could not raise a side, and therefore have to lose another 6 points on their score for the season.

It was another interesting week in the player rankings as leader Rhys Carpenter lost for the first time in 10 weeks. Mark Bennett moved back to the top of the rankings as none of the other top 5 won, Neil Tomkins and Tom Cross losing and Ryan Rowlands missing out on a match as the Mack only had 4 players.
