The highlight of an entertaining night of cup matches came at Taff’s Well as the A team beat their local rivals Taff’s Well B 3-1 to reach the group stages of the Handicap Cup, and send the champions into the Plate competition. The handicap system produced some close encounters as Rumney British Legion beat Cardiff Cuesports 3-2, and Savoy were pushed all the way to win by the same scoreline against South Wales Snooker.
There were also victories for Cathays Cons who beat Senghenydd 3-1, and Canton Libs A who also won with a frame to spare against Park Cons, with Ed Topham making the highest break of the night with a 63.
