Savoy and Canton Libs A close the gap

The top of the table is looking a lot closer as a 3-2 defeat for the leaders Taff’s Well B by Rumney British Legion gave their title rivals the opportunity to close the gap this week. They took full advantage as Savoy had an excellent 5-0 victory away to Senghenydd, and Canton Libs A whitewashed Cathays Cons, with Twm Jones and Terry Garland maintaining their recent fine form.

Cuesaders stayed in touch after also winning 5-0 against South Wales Snooker, whilst Taff’s Well A consolidated their position in fifth place after a 3-2 win over Park Club, thanks largely to another win for Steve Rees who moves into the third place in the individual rankings.

The other game of the week saw Canton Libs Z win their derby 3-2 against Canton Libs B, despite Rory Wigmore winning again to move into a share of 4th place.
