Competitions Reach Final Stages

The individual and pairs competitions have reached the final stages with lots of big names ready to fight it out for the titles.

In the Cardiff Open, Twm Sion Jones takes on two-time winner Spencer Symmons with the winner taking on Rob Hayes or two-time champion Ryan Rowlands. In the other half of the draw James Facey is up against Jason Summerhayes, with Jason Veal taking on five-time champion Jason Hewett.

In the Cardiff Handicap, last year’s winner Ben Griffiths has home advantage against Luke Haines, with the winner taking on Dave Earls or Graeme Prance. A strong bottom half of the draw has the 2019 Cardiff Open winner Rhys Carpenter taking on Spencer Symmons and James Facey facing 2019 Cardiff Handicap winner Chris Garwood.

The doubles tournaments have reached the semi-final stage, and there’ll be a new partnership on the trophy in the Open Pairs as Steve Flanagan & Shaun O’Connell take on Jason Hewett & Brian Rees with the winners up against Terry Garland & Twm Sion Jones or Luke Haines & Ed Topham.

In the Handicap Pairs, 2019 winners Ronnie Allen & Alan Hurley need to overcome James Wigmore & Declan O’Callaghan with the winners taking on Jason Hewett and Brian Rees in the semi-final. In the other half of the draw, Steve Wellbeloved & Clive Marsh face Terry Garland & Twm Sion Jones to seal a place in the final in June.
