There is a three-way tie at the top of the Premier League as Fairwater Cons Mack, Taff’s Well and The Cons all won 4-1 this week.

The champions beat Beech Tree Hotel at home, with Jason Hewett winning the opener against Dan Bridle, before Brian Rees produced the individual highlight of the week with a 64 break against Ciaran Paul. Khurram Khan sealed the win after he defeated Ben Bridle and Alan Hurley made it 4-0 with a win over Mike Pardoe, but Dai Berkinshaw finished the match with a consolation frame victory against Ronnie Allen.

Taff’s Well’s resurgence continues after they won at Rumney British Legion to continue their good start to the season. Ian Purnell won the first frame against Ben Harding, before Kevin Brown beat Glyn Hayes to make it 2-0. Glyn Jones won a close frame against Alex Ellis, before Paul Chichester pulled one back with a win over Jimmy Llewellyn, but Rob Hayes finished the match off with a tight victory over Tony Parkin.

The Cons got back to winning ways with a good win over Mackintosh Snooker, with Darren Gill beating Satinder Singh in the first frame. Ryan Bowgen doubled their lead with victory over Billy Connors and Dave Earls sealed the win after he defeated Carlos Schiazza. Craig Bolton pulled one back for Mackintosh with a win over Dave Standage, but Dan Wardle capped off a good night for The Cons after he beat Nathan Dunne.

Elsewhere, Fairwater Cons won a close match 3-2 away to Roath Cons although they had to come from behind after Clive Marsh beat Twm Sion Jones on the black. Terry Garland beat Kerri Whiting to draw things level, before new signing Sam Thomas defeated Andrew Champion to make it 2-1. Steffan Davies maintained his 100% start to the season with victory over Jack Whiting, but a superb pink and black from Lee Cornock gave him a consolation frame after beating Steve Flanagan.

Canton Libs won by the same scoreline at home to RBL Warriors, but had to come from behind after Dave Richards won against Luke Haines. Ed Topham and James Facey turned the match around after comfortable wins over Ken Linsey and Nural Khan respectively. James Wigmore made it 3-1 after beating Chris Johnson, but Nick Davies won a consolation for the Warriors with victory over Tony Chick.
