County top the table after week 1 after a very creditable win over Penarth Road, a side who should cause a lot of problems this season. The signs are very positive for this season since only one side managed a clear win this week, suggesting that a very closely fought contest is likely throughout the season. Savoy, Penarth BL and even Penarth Road may well feel they are better positioned to challenge than they did last year, while reigning champions Fairwater probably edged the result of the night, beating Mackintosh away from home without one fo their star players.
Newcomers, or should I say returning friends, Taff’s Well nearly edged out the University, and last year’s Potters Bar side showed they are more than able to contend this time around, only losing to Trec because one frame had to be forfeited.
