Wellington Thursday win 5-0 on Thursday debut as do SW Snooker whilst champs win local derby #cardiff #snooker

Defending champions Canton Libs A started their defence of the Thursday League title with an impressive 4 -1 win over rivals Canton Libs Z, including a very impressive 53 break from Shaun O’Connell, which is the target to beat. On the top table at Canton Libs, new team Wellington Thursday (made up of the ex students plus Rupert) made a comfortable start to their campaign with a 5-0 drubbing over Canton Libs B.

SW Snooker are top on alphabetical order as they recorded the same scoreline against No Balls. Other new boys Wellington Sticky Bandits were on course for a shock win against Gower, as they went 2-0 up, however Graeme Prance held his nerve by using all his experience to win a decider. Another final frame decider was observed up in Taffs Well as Rob Pugh beat John Hicks and his stronger Cathays Cons side. Savoy was also on the end of a narrow defeat by rivals Senghenydd, including a 41 break from Mike Boucher in a frame that he lost. Rumney BL shocked Roath Labour 3-2 in a well contested match.
