Roath Labour and Welly Thursday move top as Champions lose their first match #snooker

Roath Labour are the new joint leaders of the Thursday league as they beat No Balls who are yet to win a match 4 – 1. Wellington Thursday move into the joint lead with a hard fought 3-2 away win to Savoy helped by an impressive 44 by Rhys Carpenter and a win on the black for Tom Cross in a frame that lasted forever (or half an hour, depending who you ask). Canton Libs A drop down to 3rd place, 1 point behind the leaders after surprisingly losing to Cathays Cons 3-2 in a decider, not even a 31 break from Steve King could help the defending champions. Rumney BL also lost their unbeaten start to the season when they were beaten by a rather refreshed Wellington Sticky Bandits side 3-2 who have missed the last 2 matches to record their first ever win.

Senghenydd moved up the table with a 3-2 win against arch rivals SWS. Senghenydd also beat Cathays Cons earlier in the week 4-1 in their rearranged fixture. Spencer Symmons is the new leader of the high break prize for Gower with a 65 break which helped them overcome a tough Taffs Well side 3 -2. Jon Dobson couldn’t quite beat the high break prize when he recorded a 61 in Trec B’s 3-2 over Canton Libs Z. Finally Canton Libs B beat Trec C 3-2. So now 8 teams are separated by 5 points at the top of the table and now there are only 3 teams without a league victory to their name
