Taffs Well extend lead going into Christmas break

In the final matches before Christmas in Division One the lead at the top of was extended as Taffs Well beat Kiss Shot 4 – 1 to move 3 pts clear. Kev Jones made a 41 break for Taffs Well and Steve Davies made a 32 break for Kiss Shot. Senghenydd stay in 2nd with a closely faught 3 – 2 win over Rumney BL. Canton Libs Z move into 3rd a distant 9pts behind the leaders after winning 5-0 over Wellington Boot who could only muster 3 players for the match. Cathays Cons have climbed the table further after another good win against Trec Wanderers 4 – 1. Finally Canton Libs B poor run of form continued losing 3 – 2 to Wellington Rileys.

At the moment it looks like a 2 horse race is developing for the title, but if a team from the midfield can get a run together then perhaps they could also challenge. However the match between the two top teams could turn out to be a title decider or to confuse the situation even further. The gap is starting to grow from 3rd place down to 7th as 7 pts now separate those teams. Wellington Boot are trying to hold on to the midfield teams but are slowly drifting away. There are 2 teams battling for the wooden spoon which could be decided on the match between the 2 sides.
