Top three’s perfect week

The league’s top three teams all whitewashed their opponents this week, with the most notable result being County’s 5-0 win against Park Club. Canton Libs A benefitted from a 3-man South Wales A team, while Sengenhydd maintain their impressive form by defeating South Wales B. Cathays Cons were unfortunate to face a strong Mack line-up this week, which featured the welcome return to the league of Andy Rogers, a previous Cardiff Open winner in 2007. Savoy stay in touch thanks to a 4-1 over Rumney British Legion, which featured another win for Sam Thomas, which leaves him as the only player to have a perfect 10 out of 10 record, after Ed Topham didn’t play and Dave Redrup was very unfortunate to lose by going in-off after potting a tremendous black. The league takes a break next week for the quarter-finals of the Handicap Cup.
