Canton Libs A slip up in title race
Taff’s Well B have increased their lead at the top of the table to four points after Canton Libs A could only manage a 3-2 win against Canton Libs Z in response to their 5-0 victory over Canton Libs B. It means a victory for Taff’s Well in their last match at home to South Wales Snooker will be enough to clinch the title. However, if Canton Libs A achieve a big win against Taff’s Well A, then they could still snatch the title if there is a slip-up by their title rivals.
Savoy kept their slim title hopes alive after beating South Wales Snooker 5-0, but they need an unlikely series of events to win the league, but they have closed the gap on Canton Libs A for the runners-up spot.
Cuesaders kept up their winning form with a 3-2 victory over Rumney British Legion to remain in fourth place, but the battle for 5th is very tight with a game to go, with three teams on 60 points. Canton Libs Z have a slim advantage by virtue of winning more matches, whilst Cathays Cons’ 4-1 win at Park Cons, and Senghenydd’s 3-2 defeat of Taff’s Well A means an exciting end to the season is in store next week.
