Jacob Boyle is the 2025 CDSA Shootout champion after he defeated Fairwater Cons’ Dan Bridle to defend the title he won last year, after a thrilling curtain-raiser to the new season at Taff’s Well Ex-Serviceman’s Club.

Boyle won his opening match against Ronnie Allen, and followed it up with victory over last year’s runner-up Chris Johnson in the quarter-final, before defeating Eassa Din in the semi-final to reach a second successive final.

Bridle’s route to the final saw him beat James Wigmore and then team-mate Twm Sion Jones in the opening two rounds, before a win over Nathan Dunne in the semi-final to set up the showdown, but a very unfortunate in-off on the colours saw Boyle seize the advantage and finish just ahead as the siren sounded to end the frame.
