Bennett loses 100% record but Savoy win as rivals lose yet more ground

Wins for some of the lower teams this week in the Premier League. Mark Bennett lost his unbeaten record to Jon Dobson at Trec, but it was still a good week for what must be the champions-elect from Barry, as all rivals failed to win, and Savoy’s progress to the title looks inevitable.

Fine win for the bottom side South Wales Snooker over Fairwater, with individual wins for Simon, Ed and Wyn, while Canton continued their mid-season resurgence by putting Penarth Road to the sword 3-2. A fifth player could have helped Trecenydd overcome Savoy, but the best win went to the Mack A side, who humbled County Cons, who are suffering their annual bout of Februaryitis.

Breaks reported included a 41 by Byron Sage in the match at Trec, and with Bennett’s defeat Jason Hewitt sits alone at the top of the rankings with a magnificent 14 wins from 14.
