The week’s heavyweight clash was won by Mackintosh who beat Canton Libs A 3-2, but it was a match that pitted many of the top players in the individual rankings against each other. Kishan Hirani just maintained his perfect record by defeating Jason Hewitt on the black, whilst Spencer Symmons inflicted Ed Topham’s first defeat of the season. However, they lose their place at the top of the table to Taff’s Well B who had a good 4-1 win away to Canton Libs Z, with Rhys Carpenter continuing the only other perfect 9/9 record in the league.
The other member of the top 4 also won this week as Savoy A beat Cathays Cons 3-2, whilst Senghenydd won 4-1 against South Wales Snooker to consolidate fifth place. Taff’s Well A recorded their second win of the season with a 3-2 victory at home to Cathays Cons, and there was a second win in a row for Savoy B who won 3-2 at Rumney British Legion, whilst Cuesaders won 3-2 at Park Club, with a 44 break from Alex Radford being the highlight for the home team.
