Congratulations to Dylan Emery from Trecenydd Snooker who has won the 2021 under 21 European Snooker Championship in Portugal, and in the process earned himself a two-year professional tour card. Dylan beat number 1 seed Julien Leclercq from Belgium in the final 5 frames to 2, clinching the title with a break of 75. After winning a close quarter-final 4-3 against fellow Welshman Liam Davies, Dylan would then beat Antoni Kowalski of Poland 4-0 to advance to the final. Dylan compiled sixteen breaks over 50 during the course of the tournament including a 103 in the quarter-final. Emery joins an impressive list of previous champions including Mark Allen, Ben Woollaston and Luca Brecel; he becomes the sixth Welshman to win the event joining Ian Preece, Jamie Jones, Michael White, Jak Jones and Jackson Page. Emery is the latest in a long list of Cardiff and District Snooker Association members that have turned pro, and his first match as a member of the pro tour will likely be in the third quarter of 2022. All the best Dylan!
