Canton Libs A showed why they are the champions with a dominant 4-1 win against the Mackintosh to inflict the third defeat of the season on last year’s runners-up. Canton move up to second in the league, but are still trailing Senghenydd who claimed a very good 3-2 win at Cathays Cons. The competitiveness of this year’s league is underlined by Cathays’s record so far this season, with all six of their matches being decided by the odd frame.

Savoy kept up their excellent form since their opening day defeat with a 5-0 victory over Mackies Lost Boys, meaning the top of the Premier League is looking very close.

Canton Libs B caused the upset of the week with a 3-2 win against in-form Cuesaders to stay top of Division One, whilst Rumney British Legion inflicted a 3-2 defeat on Taff’s Well A to stay on their heels in second place. The race for the Division One title is going to be a tight one this year, with four teams close at the top after a 3-2 win for Canton Libs Z against Park Club closed the gap on the teams above them.
