Cathays Cons produced arguably the comeback of the season so far this week with a 3-2 win over Taff’s Well B after being 2-0 down. After a couple of black ball frame defeats, Martyn Evans’ team started the turnaround with Darren Gill’s win over Tom Cross, backed up with Dave Earls becoming the first player this year to beat Kevin Brown, before Mike Rathkey won a thrilling final frame against Rob Hayes despite the Taff’s Well B stalwart getting the two snookers he needed on the pink.

Mackintosh maintained their good form with a close 3-2 derby win against Mackies Lost Boys, with Jason Hewitt’s 49 break sealing another win for last year’s player of the year.

Savoy won 5-0 at Canton Libs Z and Taff’s Well A won 3-2 at home to Senghenydd, whilst Cuesaders got back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Trecenydd Snooker. Rumney British Legion kept up their remarkable run of a loss followed by a win with a 3-2 win over Fairwater Cons to leave their record for the past 8 weeks as LWLWLWLW!
