Handicap Cup Semi-Finalists Decided

The line-up for the Handicap Cup Semi-Finals was decided this week, as a night of exciting matches confirmed which four teams made it through.

In Group A, Cuesaders booked their place with a 3-2 win over Rumney British Legion, but they were pipped to first place by Canton Libs Z who whitewashed Taff’s Well A 5-0. That meant that both teams had the same number of points and frames won, but Canton sealed top spot as a result of their superior head to head record.

Canton Libs Z will be at home to Savoy in the semi-finals as a 3-2 win against Cathays Cons wasn’t enough for the Barry outfit to overhaul Canton Libs A, who finished with the only unbeaten record after a 4-1 victory against Canton Libs B meant they top Group B.

In the Plate, Senghenydd sealed a final spot with a 4-1 win over South Wales Snooker, whilst a 3-2 win for Taff’s Well B at Park Club wasn’t enough for the champions, as they are now 6 points behind the top two with one game to play. A 5-0 win for them against South Wales Snooker in the final game of the group wouldn’t be enough as they would lose out on head to head records if all three teams finished level.
