Canton Libs A are very close to being crowned Premier League champions after a 4-1 win at Cathays Cons increased their lead at the top of the table to 5 points with one game remaining. A very close race this season goes down to the final day after the Mackintosh matched Canton’s win with a 4-1 victory over Savoy B meaning they are the only side that can deny them the title after Taff’s Well B’s defence is over following a 3-2 derby defeat to Taff’s Well A.
Canton Libs A have it in their hands and need two points in their final match against Canton Libs B to guarantee the title without worrying about the Mackintosh’s match at Park Club. However, a 5-0 win for the Mackintosh coupled with a 4-1 defeat for Canton Libs A would result in a playoff for the championship!
Senghenydd produced another strong performance with a 4-1 win over Park Club, whilst Leon Giles’s 60 break was the highlight of Cuesaders’ 4-1 win against Canton Libs B.
Savoy A won 5-0 against South Wales Snooker and Rumney British Legion continued their excellent recent form with a 3-2 victory at Canton Libs Z.
