Canton Libs A are the 2016-17 Premier League champions after a decisive 5-0 win over Canton Libs B saw them comfortably clinch the title. They end up six points clear of nearest challengers Mackintosh and claim their first Premier League title since doing so as Fairwater Cons in 2012, finishing with 22 wins from 26 matches and 113 points. Their victory also means there have been five different winners of the Premier League in as many years and shows how competitive the competition has become.

The runners-up spot goes to Mackintosh after a 4-1 win at Park Club, but they just failed to catch Canton despite leading the competition for large parts of the season. Taff’s Well B’s disappointing end to the season finished with a 3-2 defeat at home to Savoy A who almost overtake them into third place, whilst Senghenydd won 3-2 at Rumney British Legion to complete an excellent season and finish with an impressive 93 points in fifth place.

The top half of the table is completed by Cuesaders despite a 4-1 defeat to Canton Libs Z, and Taff’s Well A who finish in 7th place following a 4-1 win away to Savoy B.
