Fairwater Cons have opened up a three point lead at the top of Premier League after their third 5-0 win in four matches at home to Taff’s Well. The first frame proved to be crucial after Cardiff Open champion Rhys Carpenter lost on the black to Steve Flanagan, but Fairwater capitalised to comfortably win the next three before winning a close final frame to secure a decisive whitewash over one of their title rivals.

The stand-out frame of the week came in Barry as Sam Thomas beat Dylan Emery as champions Savoy moved up the table with a 5-0 win over Trecenydd Snooker, whilst Mackintosh remain second with a 4-1 over Cuesaders.

Senghenydd are the new leaders in Division One after a 4-1 win over in-form Llandaff Warriors, whilst Canton Libs Z move up to second place after beating Canton Libs B by the same scoreline. The individual performance of the week came at Rumney British Legion after Darren Gill’s 60 break was the highlight of Cathays Cons’ 5-0 victory, which moves them up to fourth place in the Premier League.
