Canton Libs produced the performance of the season so far with a 3-2 win over champions Fairwater Cons to keep up their record of winning every game this season by the odd frame. The first frame set the tone for the evening with Twm Sion Jones racing into a big lead leaving Ed Topham needing several snookers with four reds remaining. However, some great safety play saw Topham fight his way back into it and a clearance from yellow to black looked like he was going to complete an amazing turnaround, but he wasn’t able to pot the black leaving Jones to make it 1-0 to Fairwater.

The next frame also went to the black with James Facey beating Terry Garland to level the match, before another final ball decider saw Ben Griffiths restore Fairwater’s lead with a superb black against Declan O’Callaghan to make it 2-1. However, a comprehensive win for Luke Haines in the fourth frame against Shaun O’Connell again levelled things up before captain James Wigmore comfortably beat Steffan Davies to clinch a memorable win and with it lay down a marker for the rest of the season.

Mackintosh Sports closed the gap on their title rivals with a 4-1 win at home to RBL Warriors with wins for Jason Hewett, Alan Hurley, Clive Marsh and Brian Rees, with captain Chris Johnson claiming a consolation frame by winning the last against Ronnie Allen. Mackintosh Snooker registered their first win of the campaign with a 3-2 win at Rumney British Legion to move them up to joint 8th in the table alongside Savoy who had a bye week.

Taff’s Well have quietly moved up to fourth in the table with a 4-1 win at home to Cuesaders Z, with Nick Jones winning the opener before Graeme Prance won a close second frame on the black to make it 1-1. The third frame proved pivotal with Graham Jenkins starting strongly to build up a lead, but Glyn Jones managed to get back into it with some solid safety play to lay several snookers and the points accumulated gave him an unassailable lead, finally winning on the blue. Kevin Brown then sealed the win with a strong second half to his frame against Dave Reynolds, before an entertaining final frame saw James Llewellyn beat Mike Kinman with a long blue to give Taff’s Well their third win on the bounce.

Cathays Cons remain above Taff’s Well in third place after a 3-2 win away to Trecenydd Snooker saw them register their fourth win in five matches. Captain Darren Gill got them off to a good start before Dan Bridle and Mike Pardoe both won to put Trecenydd 2-1 ahead. Dave Standage then beat David Birkenshaw to tie things at 2-2 to take it to a decider with Martyn Evans producing a strong performance to beat Chris Garwood to win the match for Cathays.
