RBL Warriors produced the performance of the week with a superb 3-2 win over 2019 champions Savoy to move up three places to 7th in the Premier League. Nick Davis gave them the lead with victory in the opener before Mark Bennett levelled things up for the Barry side by beating Chris Johnson. Simon Takata then restored the lead with an impressive win over two-time Cardiff Open champion Ryan Rowlands and the win was sealed when Syed Moshin Kazmi beat Geoff Shepherd. Jason Summerhayes won the last for Savoy with a win over Mike Watts but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Warriors registering their second win of the season.

Fairwater Cons increased their lead at the top of the table with a comfortable 4-1 win over Taff’s Well following wins for Twm Sion Jones, Terry Garland, Steffan Davies and Ben Griffiths, with Kevin Brown winning a consolation frame against Steve Flanagan.

Mackintosh Sports are their closest challengers after they won a closely-fought derby against Mackintosh Snooker. Last season’s Player of the Year Jason Hewett maintained his unbeaten start to the season with victory in the first frame before Jerry Connors made it 1-1 with an excellent win over Alan Hurley thanks to a 44 break. Clive Marsh restored the advantage with a win in the third frame before Brian Rees wrapped up the victory, although Nathan Dunne ensured a tight scoreline with a win over Ronnie Allen in the final frame.

Cuesaders Z’s positive start to the season continued with a thumping 5-0 win over Rumney British Legion to move them up to fourth place in the table. Graeme Prance’s side have been reinforced following their merger with Canton Libs Z and they proved too good for Rumney with wins for Paul Chichester and their captain Prance before Mike Kinman made certain of the win in the third frame. Dave Reynolds made it 4-0 by beating Ben Harding before Ryan Bowgen finished things off with a win over Frank Deriu.

Canton Libs made it five wins out of five following a 4-1 win over Trecenydd Snooker to keep pace with the leaders and with a game in hand on Fairwater Cons they are proving that they are well-equipped for a title challenge. Ed Topham won the opening frame over Dan Bridle before Rory Wigmore beat David Birkenshaw to make it 2-0. James Facey and Luke Haines then both won to double their lead, but Chris Garwood won the last for Trecenydd over captain James Wigmore to give the result a more respectable look for the Caerphilly outfit.
