Fairwater Cons Mack have pulled away at the top of the Premier League after they defeated Rumney British Legion 4-1 to register their fourth successive win and take advantage of Taff’s Well’s 3-2 loss at Fairwater Cons. Jason Hewett maintained his 100% start to the season with a win over Justin Behnan, before Paul Chichester levelled things after beating last year’s Player of the Year, Alan Hurley. Wins for Khurram Khan against Tony Parkin and Brian Rees over Glyn Hayes won the match for the Mack, before captain Ronnie Allen finished things off against Andy Magill.

Last season’s runners-up Fairwater Cons were looking to start to make the most of their games in hand on teams around them against Taff’s Well and a 3-2 victory has moved them up to fifth place. Terry Garland won the opening frame versus Ian Purnell, but Rhys Carpenter’s win over Steve Flanagan made it 1-1. Steffan Davies then beat Glyn Jones on the colours before some impressive potting saw Kevin Brown comfortably defeat Ben Griffiths to take the match to a decider, but Rob McKenna took an early lead against Rob Hayes and maintained it throughout to give his side the win.

Canton Libs have moved into joint-second place with Taff’s Well after an impressive 4-1 victory over The Cons, with Ed Topham beating Mike Rathkey in the first frame and Luke Haines doubling their lead after he won against Dan Wardle. Rory Wigmore maintained his unbeaten start to the season with victory over Martyn Evans and James Facey made it 4-0 after inflicting the first defeat of the season on Dave Earls, before Darren Gill won a consolation frame on the black against James Wigmore.

Mackintosh Snooker are in fourth place after they won 4-1 at Roath Cons despite only having four players available. Eassa Din won on his debut against Alan Wright, before Carlos Schiazza won a close frame versus Andrew Champion to make it 2-0. Mike Nessbert made sure of the win after he defeated Rob Reid and Nathan Dunne finished off the match for Mackintosh with victory over Lee Cornock.
