Canton Libs got back to winning ways after their close top-of-the-table defeat to Fairwater Cons Mack last week, as they defeated Rumney British Legion 4-1 to stay in touch of the champions. Ed Topham got them off to a winning start after he beat Alex Ellis, before Luke Haines doubled their lead with victory over Tony Parkin. James Wigmore made it 3-0 in a high-scoring frame against Andy Magill, and James Facey kept up his good form after a close win over Justin Behnan, but Paul Chichester won a consolation frame for Rumney after he defeated Rory Wigmore.

Fairwater Cons Mack matched that result after won 4-1 away to Roath Cons, with Jason Hewett beating Rob Reid, thanks to a 38 break, before Alan Hurley defeated Jack Whiting. Wins for Brian Rees over Clive Marsh and Khurram Khan against Andrew Champion made it 4-0 before Lee Cornock won the final frame for Roath versus Ronnie Allen.

Mackintosh Snooker moved up into fourth place with a 3-2 win away to Fairwater Cons, although they had to come from behind after a 45 break from Sam Thomas was enough to beat Craig Bolton, before Billy Connors levelled the match with victory over Terry Garland. Mackintosh then took the lead after Eassa Din defeated Steve Flanagan, but Shaun O’Connell restored parity with a win over Carlos Schiazza, but Nathan Dunne won the match for his side after he beat Steffan Davies in the deciding frame.

Caerphilly Cons registered their fourth win of the season with a 4-1 win against RBL Warriors, but the match will be remembered for an outstanding opening frame between Nural Khan and Allan Morgan. Khan got in first with a 27 break but a missed pink gave Morgan an opportunity and he duly obliged with a 52, before a safety battle on the colours resulted in Khan taking the chance to win it on the black. Dai Berkinshaw made it 1-1 after he beat Dave Richards and Mike Pardoe made it 2-1 with victory over Chris Johnson. Ciaran Paul’s win against Jason Veal made it 3-1 and Dai Rideout won a close final frame versus Mike Watts.
