RBL Warriors kept up their excellent form with a 4-1 away win at Mackintosh this week, to make it four wins out of five for Chris Johnson’s side. Nural Khan kept us his own good form with a win on the black against Eassa Din, and captain Johnson made it 2-0 after he defeated Billy Connors. Simon Takata sealed the victory after beating Mike Nessbert, but Carlos Schiazza pulled one back against Nick Davies, before Jason Veal sealed a great peformance for the Warriors with a win over Nathan Dunne.

With the top two both having a bye week, Taff’s Well knew nothing less than a win away at Caerphilly Cons would do, but they found themselves 2-0 behind after wins for Dan Bridle against Rhys Carpenter and Mike Pardoe’s victory on the black versus Ian Purnell. Jimmy Llewellyn started the comeback against Ciaran Paul thanks to a well-constructed 50 break, before Kevin Brown then levelled the match against Ieuan Simms thanks to a contribution of 30, and his side were handed the win after a walkover for Rob Hayes in the final frame.

Last year’s runners-up Fairwater Cons had a slow start to the season, but a 4-1 win against The Cons moved them up to fourth place, only two points behind Canton Libs in second. Rob McKenna beat Mike Rathkey in the opening frame, before Terry Garland won on the colours against Dan Wardle. The frame of the night saw Ryan Bowgen fight back from needing a snooker on the blue before fluking a respotted black in the middle pocket to close the gap, before Ben Griffiths’s win over Darren Gill made it 3-1. A break of 33 saw Steffan Davies take an early lead in the final frame against Martyn Evans, which he maintained throughout, eventually sealing it on the colours.

Rumney British Legion’s good form continued after they won 3-2 at home to Roath Cons, with Justin Behnan’s 37 break enough to beat Andrew Champion in the opener. Paul Chichester then kept us his impressive form with a comfortable win against Alan Wright, before Clive Marsh reduced the deficit with victory over Tony Parkin. Andy Magill then sealed the win for Rumney after defeating Kerri Whiting, before Lee Cornock won the last on the black against Graeme Prance.
