Tuesday League leaders Fairwater Cons finally lost their 100% record this week as Penarth British Legion came back from a frame behind to beat the champions 4-1. On the same night, the highest break was beaten for the second successive week as Mark Bennett hit the first century of the season.
Fairwater’s defeat ended a streak of 10 wins going back to last season and opened up the title race. However the Legion remain in 3rd place, 3 points behind the leaders, as County Cons held on to 2nd place with a 3-2 win over Savoy to move within a point of top. County had found themselves 2-0 down following Mark’s 101 break.
Elsewhere the impressive Wellington won their 4th game in 5 with a 4-1 drubbing of the Mack and Rhys Carpenter’s Uni side edged out his old team-mates from Trecenydd with a 3-2 win.
