Macky Misfits produced the result of the week as they beat league leaders Market Street A 3-2 to move into third place in the Premier League. Renato Ridolini got them off to the perfect start after a close win against Adrian Webber, before William Eades’ defeat of Alan Cook made it 2-0. Craig Hellinger reduced the deficit with a win over John Moore on the colours and Mike Sherrin took the match to a decider after a comfortable win against Nadeen Tariq, but Graeme Prance’s unbeaten start to the season continued as he defeated Colin Harding to give his side a very good victory.

Mackintosh Snooker are second as Jerry Connors also maintained his 100% start with victory over Rumney British Legion captain Paul Chichester, but Ben Harding drew them level after beating Carlos Schiazza on the colours. Carl Galloway made it 2-1 as he won a close frame against Eassa Din, but wins for Mike Nessbert against Ethan Chichester and Nathan Dunne versus Andy McGill gave Mackintosh the win.

Caerphilly A beat County Cons 5-0 to move into a share of fourth place with Rumney, with a 39 break for Rob McKenna against Ryan Bowgen giving them the early lead. Allan Jones’ win over Dave Standage and Nural Khan’s defeat of Satinder Singh made it 3-0, before captain Ben Griffiths beat Darren Gill thanks to a 42 break and Steffan Davies completed the whitewash with his defeat of Suhayb Din.

Level with the champions are Fairwater Cons as they won 3-2 at Taff’s Well, with Jason Hewett overcoming Rhys Carpenter in the opening frame. Hewett built an early lead before a 28 break from Carpenter drew him level, but a series of excellent pots from Hewett saw him compile a 34 break before clinching the frame with a 29 to give Fairwater the lead. Dan Bridle’s fluent potting saw him double their lead at the expense of Justin Jones before an excellent pink off the cushion from Jimmy Llewellyn pulled one back for Taff’s Well against Shaun O’Connell. A very solid display from Twm Sion Jones versus Glyn Jones sealed the win for his side and it looked like Luke Pitman was going to complete the victory against Kevin Brown after building an early lead, but a flawless display from the Taff’s Well captain saw him complete the comeback by clinching the win on the black.

Canton Libs and Cathays Sports both won their first match of the season with 3-2 wins over Macky Cuesaders and Canton Warriors respectively. An hour-long opening frame was decided by a 29 clearance from Declan O’Callaghan to win on the black for the Libs against Logan Rawlings, before captain James Wigmore doubled their lead with a very good win against Rob Baker. Another lengthy frame saw Ian Denton beat Thomas Heal to move Canton into a 3-0 lead, but an impressive 59n break from Steve McDonnell against debutante Jeremy Charles pulled one back before Mike Kinman potted blue, pink and black to edge the final frame versus Tony Chick.

Cathays Sports’ win over Canton Warriors saw Andrew Champion win the opener against Nick Davies, before Luke Sheppard drew the Warriors level after beating James Facey. Tony Storer’s victory over Chris Johnson made it 2-1 to Cathays but the Warriors restored parity after defeating Kerri-Lee Whiting, but captain Lee Cornock won the decider against Mike Watts to get his side off the mark.
